A Message From the Universe ~ Ratrace and Burnout
Today’s Message from the Universe Indicates that it might be time to take a bit of a break.
You’ve been working hard and are well on your way to seeing results. You might be tempted to keep grinding until those results become your reality but burning yourself out will not bring those results any quicker. As a matter of fact, it’s quite likely that denying yourself the opportunity to rest and refresh might muddle up some of that hard work you’ve already put in.
I can hear you now, claiming that you don’t have the time or ability to rest.
You must prioritize your well-being. We make time for the important things and this is so very important! Those who rely on you need you to be healthy, and the better you take care of yourself, the more you can give to those who need you. This message is especially important in terms of career. Don’t let your boss (even if you are your own boss) make you feel guilty for taking much-needed time off. Whether you’re sick, run-down, need a day to take care of personal errands, or do nothing at all, you have every right to take it.
Our work culture all over the world is designed to use people up as if they were disposable. We are expected to put our careers above even our families. We are trained to give so much that we don’t have the energy to even think of better, let alone find it. We’re trained so well that we carry these expectations and habits with us even when we become our own boss. It’s time to do away with this aspect of our culture.
We are more than just a number and a paycheck.
Obviously, there are plenty of circumstances that make it seem nearly impossible to improve how much of ourselves we must give. However, a journey of a thousand miles begins with one step. Keep these thoughts at the front of your mind and make even the smallest of choices with your well-being in mind. The more you practice and acknowledge the little steps and progressions, the bigger the steps and progressions will become.
