Be Unapologetically You – Dwelling in Truth

Published by Trish Nonya on

Not everybody has some deep dark truth they’re afraid to reveal to others, but we all have a closet that’s full of the pieces of ourselves we try to hide or deny. This is where we keep our perceived flaws and our vulnerability loves to hide in there.

You may pretend to be ok when you really need help or try to put on your best game face for a social event when you really just want to be alone. Maybe You feel like crying is shameful so you can’t even let it cleanse you when you’re by yourself. Or maybe anger scares you so you don’t let your own surface when it needs to be heard in order to stand up for yourself.

There are countless ways we lie to ourselves and others in the spirit of self preservation but in the end it’s just another cage. We’re not preserving ourselves, we’re starving who we are and what we need in order to be accepted by people who don’t even accept themselves.

Don’t perpetuate this mess, be yourself unapologetically. The people you were aiming to impress may fall away but there are people out there who will come into your life and love you for who you are, not for what you can give them or what you were trying to be.
