There is such a thing as “toxic positivity” so we’re not going to pretend like everything is ok all the time. Life is hard, however, and your state of mind will determine just how difficult it will be. Consider, for instance, that you are in need of employment. When you go in for an interview, your hope or hopelessness will show itself to your interviewer. It’s in your body language and tone of voice; others feel it even if they don’t know what it is.

No, it’s not easy, and how to put a little more positivity in your mindset is going to be different for everybody. You might listen to music that pumps you up, affirmations (self-talk), meditations, calling a friend who knows how to give you a boost. Write down what you think will be helpful and keep it in your toolbox for times such as these.
