Sticks and Stones – Page of Wands Reversed

Published by Trish Nonya on

“Sticks and stones may break my bones but words can never hurt me.” Most of us have heard this old addage and many of us know this not to be true, words can hurt us where it really counts.

Be careful of the words you choose when speaking to or about others. Even the words spoken in your mind may create more tension in your relationships or cause you to see less and less of what is good that person.

If you are the subject of gossip and rumours, stand firm in who you are. There will always be people who speak against you when you’ve done nothing wrong. Even if you have done something wrong it’s ok, we’re human, that’s kind of our thing. People will talk because it helps them avoid or feel better about their own train wrecks.

Their words may have created a hostile environment for you. Do not allow yourself to give in to the temptation to run away. You may decide to seek out another job or even leave your home but you don’t want to make these kinds of decisions when you’re upset. Give yourself time to calm down and maybe see how this circumstance plays out. You may notice that you have more supporters than you thought or the bullies might find another target.

Walk with your head held high and do not feed their drama. You may even tell them to fuck off at some point but do it from a place of calm and confidence, rather than allowing them to force a reaction. This is a moment in time, it will pass as all things do.
