Today’s Message From the Universe is a reminder that your voice is one of your most powerful tools, but its impact depends on where you are standing when you use it.
There is a big difference between speaking just to be heard and speaking from a place of centered truth. When you feel the urge to express yourself—whether it’s in a difficult conversation, a creative project, or simply sharing your heart with the world—take a moment to check your foundation.
If you’re creating something…
You may (and probably should) create something without a filter, but presenting it to others is a different thing entirely. You can make the most beautiful art, but if you share it with crappy lighting or a busy background, it’s not going to grab people like it would if you presented it with a little more thought.
The same goes for what you say when you present it. You may think the art should speak for itself, but that’s just not how things work, especially when you’re presenting to an online audience.
When it comes to trying to communicate with others…
If you are coming from a place of reactive energy, your message might get lost in the wind. But when you ground yourself first, your words carry weight. Being authentic doesn’t mean you have to be without a filter of some sort.
I’m sure there were times you said things you didn’t mean in the midst of a heated argument – a classic example of that reactive energy. Think too, of all the times you’ve said exactly what you mean, but were still misunderstood, or your words just didn’t have the effect that was intended.
In both cases…
Think about what you want to express, and think of how to present it in a way that will be effective. Who are you talking to? What is important to them? What are words or ideas that may trigger them to shut down instead of listening? What can you say or do that may open them up to words they might otherwise be deaf to or stop their scroll?
Take a deep breath. Feel your feet on the earth. Then, speak or create. When you lead with your light from a rooted position, the world doesn’t just hear you—it listens.
