A Message from the Universe ~ Hard Work and Self-Care
Today’s Message from the Universe speaks of resistance to change and work/life balance.
There seems to be some planetary stuff going on regarding the inner things we try to ignore and the changes we try to avoid. Sometimes we don’t really know what needs addressing, let alone what to do with it. We might be trying to “fix” a situation by doubling down on whatever it is that we’re doing when what we’re doing just isn’t working. While putting more effort into our work seems to be the logical response, it’s not always helpful. In fact, it can be quite detrimental to our general well-being.
My current situation is a testament to what can happen when we continue to power through everything in our lives at the expense of our physical, mental, and spiritual health. It wasn’t my fault that doctors didn’t take me seriously and it wasn’t my fault that making a living required more from me than I had to give. This is the reality of our system and thinking that there’s something wrong with us because we can’t keep up is probably the most detrimental part of it.
Regardless of fault or circumstance, these behaviors are eventually met with some pretty hard lessons. When you don’t prioritize your well-being, you will, without exception, be forced to do so. It may not seem that you have much of a choice but if make your health and peace a real priority then you will find ways to care for yourself much better than you do now. Take a day off when you need it if you know you won’t be fired. Allow yourself days where you only do what is absolutely necessary at the moment and try to steer clear of perfectionism. Nothing and no one is ever perfect and you will only make things worse by trying to live up to such an unobtainable standard.
If you find yourself in a workplace that you dread going to every day, it’s imperative that you carve out some time every week dedicated to finding something a little less awful. You might also consider checking into your ability to trim your hours a bit or rearrange your schedule in a way that allows you a little more breathing room. Sometimes that half-day on Friday or a long weekend is just what you need.
If you’ve got ideas for a side gig, make sure you do what you can to give yourself the opportunity to really explore this thing and possibly use it to get out of the grind for good. Of course, you will grind on your own thing as well but that type of effort is so much different than grinding for a job you hate or a company that spreads you as thin as they can. Make yourself some work/life balance and make every move and decision with your peace and well-being as the #1 consideration.
