A Message from the Universe ~ Making Peace with the Masculine
Today’s Message from the Universe invites us all to make peace with the masculine.
When I was younger, I did everything I could to not be as “weak” as my gender was supposed to be, even despising the color pink. Later in life, I learned to truly embrace my femininity, feeling the full power of being a woman.
Of course, I still had to live my life facing all the challenges that come with being a female in a patriarchal society. Still do, as a matter of fact. Most of my freelance work is in tech which we all know is hella dominated by men.
The thing is, it’s not men’s fault either. They grew up in a society that says they’re not real men if they show their feelings or make less money than their partner, among other things. Of course, this doesn’t excuse their bad behavior.
As adults, we are responsible for our own healing and behavior no matter the cause.
Most of us (including men) have at least a little history of being abused in some way by men. We still deal with being shut down and minimized on a regular basis, even from perfect strangers.
Exclaiming “fucking men!” is a well-used mantra, even for myself.
This does not mean that we should stick with those who are high on the spectrum of toxic masculinity. You can’t change or fix anybody but yourself. However, you can understand that their bad behavior is not your fault, even though it often feels that way.
Take notice of just how much younger generations are rebelling against these harmful expectations and encourage them with enthusiasm, hope, and love! Centuries of skewed masculinity won’t be rectified in one night but each of us can continue to shed the chains we were born with and teach our children healthy views of themselves and the world they live in.
If you’re one of those young whippersnappers who refuse to conform to that crap then you have my eternal gratitude and should know just how important and powerful you are. You are creating a world in which most of us could never have imagined to be an option š
