It’s common to close off your heart when it’s been broken or exploited. It is, to a certain extent, even necessary to give yourself time away from others in order to reflect and heal. It may be necessary at times but it’s not a place to live.
Even the most solitary of us need true connection which cannot be obtained when our heart is closed.
Scared to be hurt again? Isn’t it scarier to never love or be loved again? Everything in life has its ups and downs, everything is subject to the cycles of death and rebirth, and everything ends at some time. Let yourself feel love and joy in the present, and share the best of yourself with the people you love.
A season, a reason, or a lifetime, love with all your heart and let go with that same love as we grieve for the beauty they brought to us.
