Helloooooo Beautiful Soul!!

How are you holding up out there? Are you taking care of yourself? I must admit that I have been overdoing it quite a bit, and I’m exhausted!

If you’ve been with me for a while, you may know that I worked myself sick until I was unable to work at all. For this reason, the whole work-life balance thing has kinda been my thing. My health became my #1 priority, and I’m usually pretty good at stopping before my body starts complaining.

I haven’t been so good at stopping lately, though.

Sure, there’s a lot that needs doing, but isn’t there always? Lately, it’s felt like more of a compulsion than a choice. I would set out to have myself a day off, and my laptop would call to me like it was my favorite drug.

Come to think of it, I suppose it is my favorite drug! I love what I do, and I love all the back-end stuff that goes into everything I do as well.

I’m in the midst of some big changes in the workish stuff, so I’m learning new systems and implementing new processes. My creative brain absolutely loves this stuff, but it’s all incredibly time-consuming and energy-draining, especially when my electronics are far slower than I am.

Yesterday, I was finally able to take some time off without that crazy compulsion that has been holding me hostage of late, and my brain is still on hiatus today! I haven’t watched or read anything new recently, so today’s newsletter will mostly just be updates. Let’s get into it!

Updates

Prepping Substack to become my website

This has been going relatively well! I learned how to create new pages and updated my “About” page. I then promptly deleted everything on that page while trying to fix an issue it was having with showing up blank on the mobile app.

Apparently, none of the customizations that can be done to your Substack website will show up on the app. It’s disappointing, but I chose Substack for its simplicity, so that’s okay.

I was also going to set up a shop page for my handmade items.

I found that you can add your products to Stripe and create a purchase link that will allow customers to make a purchase without having to go off-site to do so. The problem is that there is no shopping cart feature, so customers would be limited to a “buy it now” process for one item at a time.

I may still set up something similar, but I found that adding a shop page using my Ko-Fi shop link works rather seamlessly! Clicking on that page doesn’t feel like I’m being pushed onto another site at all.

It seems I am ready to make the big move! I’m aiming do this at the beginning of next month, but will keep you updated along the way.

New Sparkly Stuff In My Shop!

This is the biggest update I have, and I’m so excited! Last week, I finally finished adding my new handmade jewelry to my shop. I updated pricing on the older stuff and am now offering free shipping in the US!

Intentional Bag Charms

This is the release I’m most excited about! I didn’t want them to just be pretty; I wanted them to feel good so they could double as fidgets! The biggest purpose behind them, of course, was to have a physical representation of your vision – a sparkly and jingly item that you will interact with often. Like a vision board, but with crystals!

I have a few premade charms that are ready to go, but this is mainly an item that is meant to be created specifically for you and your needs – or that of someone special to you. At this time, the premade charms are $22, and a personalized charm is $25. You can place an order for your charm here.
