Updates & Recommendations for June 2025

Hello beautiful souls!!

May was another month of swinging between creation and exhaustion for me! I’m still keeping my writing to the basics right now, but I look forward to getting my Strange Nature series back up and running again! I will probably start with just one a month while so much is in flux for me, but I will increase the frequency as I am able.

My son’s MMA fight fell through last minute, so I didn’t get to go to Florida last month. I was a little disappointed, but only a little. I’ll get back there soon enough, and I was able to do some purging and refreshing of my physical space, which was desperately needed!

What I’m creating

If you caught my updates last month, you’ll know that I’ve been making jewelry. I’ve learned a lot about wire wrapping and have been making my own chain links for earrings over the past year-ish. I am finally feeling confident enough in my abilities to start doing a little more.

Last week, I dismantled my favorite pendant and am currently trying to create the perfect wrap for it. I’ve been wearing that pendant for about 30 years and rarely take it off! It has had a ton of incarnations already since I dismantled it, and will probably have quite a few more. Here are a few pics of my journey so far:

A Game of Thrones: A Song of Ice and Fire, by George R.R. Martin

The HBO series is one of my all-time favorites, but I had a hard time reading the books with my eyes, so I gave up. I finally have the audiobooks and am listening to them now! In case you aren’t familiar:

The Handmaid’s Tale series on Hulu (New season!!)

I was so surprised to see a new season this year since there haven’t been any new episodes for a few years! The last episode aired last week, and it looks like there will be a spin-off coming soon 🙂

The Wheel of Time series on Prime

I’ve never read the books, but they’re on my list now! The 3rd season of this series just wrapped, and I’m heartbroken to have heard they will not be renewing another season. It’s still an amazing show and worth watching – I love their magic system!

The Last of Us series on HBO/MAX

I know, I’m always late to the party! I love Pedro Pascal & Bella Ramsey from Game of Thrones, and they have confirmed that a 3rd season is in the works! This has a Walking Dead feel to it, but the zombies are definitely much scarier, and it pulls on the heartstrings a little more as well.
