Helloooooo beautiful souls!

I want to make this newsletter as valuable to you as it is to me! For that reason, I have decided to begin sharing tips and information that is a little different from what I’ve been sharing since I started Half-Cracked Guru in 2019. I would love to hear any thoughts, questions, and suggestions you might have 💙

Before we begin

First, it’s important for you to know that nothing I publish will ever be a replacement for a medical professional. I am not a doctor or a financial advisor but I think you will find that these suggestions can be a great addition to any professional treatment you are undergoing.

Just as importantly, listen to your body and inner voice (the healthy one) to determine if anything you do should be continued. Even meditation can have adverse effects on people so you should be mindful of how these things make you feel. There is not a single thing that works for everybody so you will likely have to experiment to find what works best for you.

A few non-witchy tips

  1. Don’t try to avoid feelings that need to be felt.
Allow yourself to grieve or be angry if that’s what you need. You don’t want to live there, of course, but sometimes you just need a good cry!
  2. Kickstart any ritual with an intentional bath or shower.
Visualize yourself cleansing your energy as you cleanse your body and watch the stagnant or difficult energy go down the drain.
  3. Cultivate your environment.
Even if you only have a small or even temporary space to work in, set the mood with anything that will aid you in achieving the feeling you want. Try to appeal to your 5 physical senses by using things like lighting, music, and aromatherapy.

Crystals

I was one of those people who never really felt any kind of energy from a crystal…until I did. I was trying to identify a stone that I found and realized that my anxiety all but disappeared as I was doing an image search. That was a Gray banded agate by the way 🙂

Here are three crystals that are great for helping to lift your mood:

  1. Rose Quartz
Promotes: calm, love for self and others, compassion, forgiveness, emotional healing, self-love, self-acceptance, faith
Helps with: emotional trauma, relationship troubles, anxiety, stress, anger
  2. Amethyst
Promotes: clarity, protection, spirituality, contentment, intuition
Helps with: anxiety, stress, sleep disorders, meditation, scrying, geopathic stress, headaches, addiction
  3. Citrine
Promotes: prosperity & abundance, nurturing, creativity, focus, personal power, joy, motivation, self-worth, optimism

Colors

Whether you’re choosing candles for a spell, decorating your living space, or deciding what to cook, colors have a great impact on the results!

If you want to read about the psychology of colors, you can do so here: https://mhanational.org/surroundings/color-psychology-explained

If you want to read more about using colors with witchcraft, you can do that here: https://www.allure.com/story/color-magic-witchcraft-meanings-guide

Choose these colors to lift your mood:

  1. Yellow
    Promotes: joy, happiness, communication
  2. Orange
Promotes: excitement, pleasure, prosperity & abundance, creativity, joy, confidence
  3. Pink
    Promotes: optimism, love, self-care, empathy

Smells

Scent can have a great influence on our moods, sometimes it can be an almost instant effect! You can light incense or scented candles, and even throw something into a boiling pot to fill your home with one of these mood-boosters!

For more on the science behind aromatherapy, read this: https://www.hopkinsmedicine.org/health/wellness-and-prevention/aromatherapy-do-essential-oils-really-work

  1. Sage
  2. Citrus
  3. Peppermint

Spells

While you can find spells for just about anything, you should know that you can adjust them to fit your purpose or even create your own! The thing that makes all the difference is your intention and focus 🙂

Journaling

One of the best things to lift your mood is to ask yourself what you’re grateful for! Counting our blessings helps to call in more to be grateful for and the more you do it, the better it works 💙
