Enter the New Year With Intention – A Message From the Universe
Today’s Message from the Universe invites you to enter the new year with intention.
I don’t think you could ask for two more auspicious cards to herald in the new year! Whether you’ve stepped onto an entirely new path or are just turning a corner on your current path, this message is all about new beginnings!
Full and new moon energy
I love that we received this message on the last full moon of the year! The full moon’s energy is best used to release that which does not serve as well as increasing the energy that supports manifestation and new ventures. The new moon follows about two weeks later, on the 30th of this month, and its energy is perfect for reviewing the previous month and setting your intentions for the month ahead. Of course, it will also support our intentions for the coming year.
Resolutions for the new year
I don’t know about you but I used to decide on a habit to quit or add pretty much last minute and without much planning. Now I rarely make resolutions at all. I check in with my goals and make adjustments on a quarterly basis which helps keep them fresh in my mind. I do set yearly goals but break them down into quarterly chunks.
If I’m trying to quit a habit, I now figure out what my triggers and helpful replacements are. I cultivate my environment in a way that makes it more difficult to get to that habit and pay special attention to my “why.” Willpower and discipline are limited, especially when you’re pushing so hard just to exist. Make it easy on yourself in any way you can.
Didn’t meet this year’s goals?
We are our own worst critics and not meeting our goals may make us feel like we’re a failure or just not good enough. But here’s the thing – life happens! Priorities change, resources that were easy to obtain when you made that goal may become much more difficult to obtain, maybe you didn’t understand what you were up against when you made that goal.
Don’t beat yourself up for missing the mark! Reassess, make revisions where you can, and get back up on that horse! Recommit but stay flexible and open to other options.
Set actionable and realistic goals
The biggest thing that helped me with goal-setting was learning to create goals that I actually have control over. For example, instead of creating a goal to make a particular amount of money, my goals might be to release new product or content at specific intervals throughout the year. I can still aim for the amount but my goal is based on the actions I feel will get me there.
So, what about these new beginnings?
Big or small, good change is in the wind! You will bring much of this change on with your own intentions and actions but there is also an element of luck or even divine timing or intervention here.
There will always be parts of your path that are a little more rocky than others, the key is to focus on where you put your feet instead of how you think the path should be. Remind yourself what you can and can’t control as often as necessary and keep putting one foot in front of the other.
Remember that even the most welcome of changes will have a learning curve that might be quite difficult early on. You will acclimate and will feel much more confident before long 💙
