Dreaming vs Practicality – The Piper Reversed
I talk a lot about visualization and making your dreams into reality. The Piper came out standing on his head today to remind me to tell you that manifestation starts with dreams but must be balanced with practicality.
Say you want to make art for a living. You may see yourself just making the art while people are beating down your proverbial door to buy it. This might not be as farfetched as you think but that is the end result of your visualization.
The path to get there requires you to work consistently on your skills and explore different ways to attract your audience and potential customers. It also helps to be open to things like creating logos and such for companies who will pay you for your work while you build your base. You might consider making things like stickers and t-shirts because not everyone wants to buy something on canvas, or creating a course for those who want to learn how to do what you do.
Take me, for instance. I did not dream of being a tarot reader, I dreamed of being a writer. I love tarot, I’m good at it, and it’s a little easier to find someone who wants a reading than someone who wants to buy my words. It just so happens that tarot cards are a fantastic writing prompt and the gifts I use to read go hand in hand with the gifts I use to write.
The daily message has become an incredible part of my routine, stretching and honing my skills while strengthening my connection to spirit. Even if you stopped reading, I would continue to do this for myself. What you’re reading is just the tip of the iceberg though.
What you don’t see is short stories, countless first chapters to novels, writing contests, poetry, scanning for freelance opportunities, and hours of learning each day about how to do and get better at all of it. It’s a long road to the vision in my head of being a published author so I am reaching in many directions to build skill and recognition while creating new ideas and opportunities along the way.
At the same time I’m putting a lot of work into developing the tarot aspect of my path. Everything I do now may or may not bring me to my vision as I see it now. It could very likely bring me to something I never would have thought of, I’m open to all the possibilities and encourage you to be open as well.
