Daily Card for 2/25/20 – The High Priestess

I think we all know the benefits of meditation so why do we have such a difficult time adding this helpful tool to our daily routine?

I think, as a collective, our expectations are a little skewed. We tend to think that our goal is to empty our mind so we throw our hands up in frustration when we can’t get our monkey brain to shut up. We suck at committing, we doubt the validity of its benefits, and we think that we are generally incapable. Maybe we just don’t know where to begin.

I have a challenge for you. Give yourself 10 minutes a day for the next 7 days. Don’t feel like you just have to sit there and try to be empty, try a guided meditation like this one: https://youtu.be/jeGT1VXwfx4 there are endless videos like this on YouTube.

If you want to try it without guided instructions, just focus on your breath. It’s ok that your brain still wants to chatter, acknowledge the thought and bring your focus back to your breath.
