Stop and Observe – The Tracker
Whatever it is you’re persuing, be careful not to rush towards it. In order to get what you want, you will need to be still and observe before you take action. Even if you’ve been acting you will still need to stop periodically to assess your progress and look for changes or new information.
Say you want to start your own business. Yes, you need to be active in things like creating and marketing yourself but first you need to research. Research the market, see how others do it. You might need to learn how to create a website or explore different product or services that you can add to your repertoire. Things are always changing so you’ll want to do this on a regular basis.
If you’re trying to find a new home, even if it’s a place you’ll only be for a year or two, you probably don’t want to take the first opportunity that is presented to you. Even if you love it or desperately need any place other than where you are, there is a good chance it will have issues so look it over with a fine toothed comb to make sure they’re issues you’re ok with.
I once rented a place where the all windows were sealed shut, who would have thought to try the windows when apartment hunting? Move through this potential home as you would a day in your life. Turn on the taps, flush the toilet, look at the condition and amount of electrical outlets. If you’re in a place where its cold for half the year, check out the windows and doors to make sure your heating bill doesn’t bleed you dry. Don’t forget to check out the location of things like grocery stores and public transportation if you don’t have a reliable vehicle.
Whatever it is that your seeking, don’t skimp on the details unless you want to find yourself at square one again shortly after you’ve acquired it.
